Saving the File

Now that you know exactly what to click, do the obvious! Click it! This is where it can get confusing. If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will get a window that looks something to the likes of the following:

Select "Save this program to disk" and click on the OK button. Another window opens, and all you have to do is click on the drop down box that says "Save to:" and navigate to your C: drive, and then double click on your "Downloads" folder which you just created, and then click Save. Now, another window will open, and it will show the progress of your download. After a little (or long) while, the file will be finished, and you're left with a window that looks something like this if your using Internet Explorer 5:

Or the window will just close if your using any other older version of Internet Explorer.

If your one of those people who are using Netscape Communicator, then you will either see the following window:

... in which case you would select "Save it to disk" and click on the OK button or you might not even see that window althogether. In both cases, you should see the "Save in:" window, and you can follow the same instructions as mentioned above for Internet Explorer to specify where to save the file. After you click on the Save button, you should see another window pop up that shows you the progress of your download, and, like with Internet Explorer, after a little (or long) while, the file will be finished, and the window will just close by itself.

You have just downloaded your first file!
