Conclusion
Ever wished you can afford an LCD monitor? No, not just any LCD monitor, a decent-sized one that will give you enough desktop real-estate as a 19" CRT. If you're short on cash, then the KDS Radius RAD-7 is for you! With 17" of screen real-estate running at a recommended resolution of 1280x1024, the RAD-7 will give you a similar experience as a more-expensive 18" LCD or 19" CRT monitor. Of course, the loss of 1" does require some getting used to, but the difference in size is very minimal and can be forgotten once one is used to the slightly smaller size.
It is unfortunate that the overall display quality is somewhat marred by the fact that the edges of the displayed showed less contrast than the rest of the screen. Other than that the KDS Radius RAD-7 is very capable of reproducing quality images. At about $750 USD, if you're in the market for a 19" CRT-equivalent LCD monitor, the Radius RAD-7 17" TFT LCD monitor is a wise choice if you don't have the cash to jump for an 18" LCD and don't mind not having the bells or whistles.
